Alexandria Gonzalez is a 23-year-old graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Journalism in Magazine Writing and Editing and a minor in Mexican-American Studies.
In addition to four years of journalism coursework, Alexandria interned for The Monitor, a newspaper based in McAllen, Texas during the summer of 2009. There she was an intern reporter for the Metro desk writing news features and the Life & Arts desk writing boutique reviews and interviews with local talent.
Upon graduation, Alexandria began working at La Prensa de Houston, a Spanish publication in Houston, Texas. There she writes news features relevant to the Hispanic, Spanish-speaking community of Houston. Her main focus, however, is interviews with Latino/a actors, actresses, directors and other talent from upcoming movie and DVD releases and television show premieres.
Alexandria is also a contributing writer for JMG Magazine, an entertainment magazine in Houston, Texas. She writes movie previews, DVD reviews, and feature pieces with talent from upcoming movie releases. The Movie Noise blog on the JMG Magazine website is updated weekly with new interviews or reviews she writes.
She is in the process of creating a website which is an expansion of her blog, The Reel Story. Said website will feature interviews, movie reviews and previews, DVD reviews, television show reviews, updates on movies and television shows, and press junket, film festival and convention coverage.
Her goal for the time being is to find a job where she can continue to write about what she loves, which is film. Her expertise is in-depth interviews and film reviews, and she would love to find a job where she can hone her skills and constantly work on her craft.
