I'm a teacher of Modern Languages, and am passionate about language teaching and the engagement and motivation of students. It's a job and a challenge I really enjoy. I'm especially keen on trying to harness technology to inspire and engage learners, and was one of the first teachers in England to have set up a blog for students.
I have also worked with wikis to promote collaborative learning. I still run the Northgate MFL blog, and the Northgate MFL wikispace, have written resources for KS3 text books, appeared before the All Party Parliamentary Group on Modern Languages at the House of Lords, and have featured in the Times Educational Supplement. I am an experienced trainer and speaker, and have presented at events such as Language World and The Language Show. I offer bespoke training to schools and at conferences.
Somehow I also find the time to play a bit of tennis, bass guitar, and reach new levels of frustration following Ipswich Town.
