Alex Cortes
Hello, and thanks for taking a moment to learn a little bit about me. My name is Alex Cortes and I have worked in corporate communications for 12 years, in a variety of roles including web content management, intranet development and editorial oversight, internal business relations and TV network publicity and social media outreach.
With a current focus on global employee communications, I strive to ensure information can reach employees and be shared through a variety of sources and technology that meet the needs of our business community. I have spoken on these topics at various IABC and Communitelligence conferences, and for numerous business units within my organization and industry.
In my spare time, I manage a blog focused on personal growth called 'My Inner Sage,' and publish a number of articles (lenses) on Squidoo.com. I'm also an avid guitar player and am learning piano as well.
I was graduated from Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) with a B.S. in Business Management & Organization, and have also done some additional studying at Sessions College of Design. As a student, I served as Vice President of Program Council, President of Golden Key National Honor Society, Chairman of Spring Week, participant on the Student Union Board of Governors, and active member of Sigma Pi Fraternity. I was honored with the President’s Citation Award in recognition of these contributions and have recently been selected to the CCSU Alumni Board of Directors.
A native of Connecticut, USA, I currently reside in the state with my wife and two children.
