A communications specialist, former political aide and former reporter with deep ties to the Bay Area.
Alex cut her teeth at the Commercial Appeal, the daily newspaper in Memphis, Tenn., rising from intern to political reporter during her nearly four years on staff. Here she discovered that deep and trusting relationships are key to any good political reporting. She also learned how to sweat it out under deadline pressure and still produce a good story.
Struck by a newfound passion for regional politics, Alex moved back to California and transitioned into the political world, first as a campaign manager for the San Mateo County Democratic Party and later as a District Representative for the California State Senate.
Sharing people's stories remained a true passion, and in 2012 Alex left politics for a career in public relations, public affairs and corporate communications at Singer Associates, Inc. in San Francisco, a boutique agency where she works as a Senior Account Executive. Here she serves her clients by successfully executing strategic communications on a wide range of issues, developing messages, drafting press releases, coordinating press conferences and creating communications materials both online and in print.
Alex earned her degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
