The officer division deputy chief in the Army’s Office of the Director Military Personnel Management, Deputy Chief of Staff G-1 in Washington, DC, Alex Gallegos (Idaho) formerly served two years as the commander of the 101st Special Troops Battalion at Fort Campbell in Kentucky. His responsibilities in this position encompassed the oversight of four distinct and specialized companies including the 101st Human Resources Company, the 101st Financial Management Support Unit, the 58th Signal Company, and the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 101st Special Troops Battalion, 101st Sustainment Brigade.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Gallegos of Idaho served officer command, human resources, and human capital posts at Forts Knox, Bragg, and Alexandria, VA. He holds a bachelor of science in criminology from the University of Tampa, an MA in human resources from Webster University, and an MA in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island.

Outside of the professional arena, Alex Gallegos of Idaho is an avid community volunteer/mentor and a frequent traveler who loves to venture out of the Greater Washington, DC, area. He also enjoys getting outside to bicycle and fish.
