Hello, I’m Alex. I have been working with the York Region District School Board as a high school LTO for the past year and a half.
Due to the pandemic I have been forced (like everyone else) to really dive headfirst to using online tools to help teach my students. I like using technology because I feel it creates a more equitable learning experience, but I do struggle with accountability from some students. I am hoping to learn how to create a fun environment for my class going forward using technology while maintaining my own sanity keeping track of student work and their habits (I really hated chasing students for online work).
I like to travel, play games, and go camping! I actually taught in China for one year and Japan for two years! I really miss the spicy street food I got in China. I also like Scuba diving and hope to go on a few trips this summer. There's lots to dive in Ontario!
