Alexis DeVogt

In the Spring, Alexis will receive her BA in Dance, AA in English, with a minor in Business from Dean College. While at Dean College Alexis studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary and Modern (Horton). Alexis had the opportunity in her four years of education to work with Jill Silverman, Jeremy Howes, Melinda Marculietu, Mark Harootian, Julie White, Kristina Berger, Gregory King, Donlin Foreman, William Evans, Todd Shanks, Charles Holbrook, Jean Wenzel, Aleksandra Baryshnikov and Rose Pasquarello Beauchamp. While at Dean, Alexis received the chance to work directly with the founder of Dean College’s Dance Program, Joan Phelps Palladino, to complete an independent studying researching dance journalism and dance criticism. Through this semester long research project Alexis completed a 94-page paper, “The Words Behind the Movement.” After Alexis receives her degrees from Dean College she plans to pursue her education further to obtain a MA in Performance Studies/Dance Studies and later receive her PhD in Dance. Alexis plans to become a dance writer after her education years are completed.
