Alex-Yumbya Kisia initially studied Biology at Texas College in Tyler, where he maintained a GPA of 3.5, and attended medical school in the Dominican Republic before having a change of heart and returning to the U.S. to study engineering at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena. There, Alex-Yumbya Kisia earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, graduating cum laude with a 3.90 GPA and a National Honor Society Award. In order to hone his business skills, Alex-Yumbya Kisia enrolled at the California State University, Dominguez Hills, where he received a Master of Science in Quality Assurance.
After completing education, Alex-Yumbya Kisia took yet another turn and decided to go into real estate development, commercial construction, and property management. In 2001, he opened the doors to Yumbya Investment Group Inc., where he currently acts as Chief Executive Officer and President. Alex-Yumbya Kisia manages every facet of the company and takes responsibility for profits, which between 2004 and 2007 averaged 9-percent annual growth. Alex-Yumbya Kisia owns properties in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Prescott, Arizona. A recent project entailed his company building an industrial office building in Prescott, Arizona, spanning two 16,000-square-foot facilities. One facility features eight residential units and 8,000 square feet of office space, while the other contains commercial units only.
Customer satisfaction remains a number-one goal of Alex-Yumbya Kisia, and he strives to deliver clients’ projects on time and within budget. Upcoming plans include expanding the business and continuing to work closely with his main business partner, Wells Fargo Bank, N.A.
