Cellist Alex Pualani has already amassed much experience in his young career. From being a member of the Fairbanks Symphony Orchestra and Arctic Chamber Orchestra, to teaching band and orchestra in the public schools, to coaching the Yakima Youth Symphony Orchestra cello section and directing the Valley String Academy.
Mr. Pualani received his BA in Music at Gonzaga University under cellist and conductor Kevin Hekmatpanah. While playing in the FSO and ACO, Alex had the pleasure of studying with Minna Rose Chung. He is currently on his final year of study for his Masters Of Music degree in Performance-Pedagogy at Central Washington University under the guidance of John Michel.
Alex was recently brought on to teach the lower strings in the El Sistema inspired YAMA (Yakima Music en Acción), which aims to promote social change and community vibrancy through music for yakima children and families.
Alex frequently plays with various groups in and around the Yakima and Ellensburg areas and maintains a large studio students of all ages.
Alex Pualani lives in Kittitas, Washington with his wife, son and daughter.
