A Corporate Governance Associate in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, Alex Pulisic began his career with Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) in 2001, holding various positions as a Junior then Research Analyst prior to beginning his current role. Headquartered in Rockville, Maryland, ISS represents a brand of MSCI Inc., a world leader of support tools for making investment decisions ranging from boutique hedge funds to large pension plans. In his current role, Alex Pulisic acts as sector leader for mutual funds, directly reporting to the Vice President of ISS U.S. Research. An experienced research analyst proficient in assembling financial data from Security Exchange Commission records, Mr. Pulisic develops corporate governance policies in various areas for shareholders and business development companies. A graduate of the State University of New York at Albany’s School of Business, Alex Pulisic earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1997, with a concentration in marketing and finance. Fluent in Croatian, Serbian, and Bosnian, with knowledge of Slovenian, TRW Corp. recruited him after graduation and provided a contract with the U.S. Military to translate and consult for U.S. intelligence in Bosnia and Herzegovina. After two years, Alex Pulisic returned to New York, collecting data as an Associate Project Manager for Clarke Mosquito Control, Inc. The company received appointment by the Environmental Protection Agency, along with the governor of New York and mayor of New York City to address the outbreak of encephalitis caused by the West Nile Virus. In 2000, Mr. Pulisic joined PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. At the Arlington, Virginia-based auditing and financial accounting firm, he served as Project Coordinator, assisting in a U.S. Agency for International Development project. In addition to maintaining a busy career, Alex Pulisic returned to school to advance his education, completing a Master of Business Administration in 2011 at the University of Maryland University College in Adelphi. Holding a 4.0 grade point average, Alex Pulisic received induction into Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, the nation’s largest, oldest, and most select honor society for all disciplines. He also established Slavica Trans Inc., to provide international freight forwarding services as an Ocean Transportation Intermediary.
