Alex Sass

Alex Sass is a leading strategist in social media engineering, e-commerce, and digital innovation.

As Strategy and Consulting Partner at Ecrubox, Alex is known for his work with global brands, public sector organisations, and fast-growing businesses. With a collaborative and curious approach, he remains a sought-after speaker and advisor. His career spans more than thirty years, with operational roots in the UK and Europe and a current base in the Canary Islands.

He has consulted for start-ups, scale-ups, and billion-dollar corporations, as well as government bodies in the UK, Greenland, and the United States. His leadership has been recognised with awards in digital consulting, team culture, LGBT+ equality, and the application of AI and Big Data in social psychometrics.

His independently funded six-year study into “human happiness” analysed more than 90 million data points and led to widely adopted frameworks for digital wellbeing and consumer personas. The research was carried out from his off-grid lab in the volcanic north of Lanzarote.

Diagnosed autistic later in life, Alex now also explores digital solutions to support other highly capable entrepreneurs who see the world differently. His early theories on Social, Spatial, and Self-based community building influenced the development of several early social networks and continue to shape how brands understand identity, connection, and loyalty.

He also founded Ecrucademy, the internal learning suite at Ecrubox, where advanced digital marketing is taught through a blend of historical insight, behavioural science, and emerging technologies.

Notable commercial clients include Nokia Europe, Under Armour, BMW Mini, Converse, Adidas, Lastminute.com, the Department of Trade & Industry, and the European Space Agency. He has also launched and invested in ventures of his own, such as JakeTM, a high net worth LGBT social-professional network based in London and the Oregon Technology (IBM Watson) social data engine.
