What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal. ~Albert Pike

Dependable, compassionate, and persistent are qualities that I strive to maintain anduphold every day. I am a senior at Rutgers University pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health with a minor in Mass Media Digital communications. Making the decision to never allow my fears to be greater than my drive, I took a leap of faith to pursue my love and passion for the health indusrty.

I realize that my life is only meaningful to me if I am helping others. I believe that “to whom much is given, much will be required.” I would like to help others through public service using the field of public health and public policy. I want to affect health care policies around the world to help bring proper medical care to underserved and underprivileged people around the world. I’m pushing for change in our world today, and I’m fighting to make a difference for future generations to come.

If I had to choose one word to describe me it would be compassionate. I have the ability to help individuals and companies reach their highest potential. I am a straight shooter who is not afraid to have the tough conversations. I spot the hidden yet unique qualities of individuals, and often believe that people are more capable and valuable than they often give/get credit for. Along with compassionate, I am extremely persistent. I am a woman who wears the team hat and is the go to player of the team. I deliver no matter how tough the situation may be, and I am a person who will find a way to make things happen no matter what. I have a hunger and strong drive that is like no other. I know that I am destined for success, and that it is up to me and only me to fulfill my destiny. I count every opportunity in my life as a blessing, and never take provision made for me granted. My persistency and caring nature for others constantly remind me that I am accountable to myself as well as others. I have a strong sense of awareness, and I never fail to evaluate and reflect on how I can become a better Alexus Jegede.
