Alex Zaprudsky is a Communication Studies student at The University of Iowa. He has a natural ability to work with people. He has been involved in theater and performing since he was five years old; and has directed and been production manager for numerous theater productions. Alex has taught acting classes and creativity workshops to students of all ages with much success. He has performed as a clown across Iowa and several places around the United States. He has worked with some of the industry’s best clowns and his performing and teaching reflect his experience. Alex lives by the following motto: the difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra. He has a true passion for clowning and ventures outside the ordinary by putting a unique twist on things to intrigue young and old, alike. Alex’s experience in clowning and performance in general provide a fresh perspective on the art form.
Alex spent the summer of 2011 touring with Circus Smirkus as their communication intern where he wrote a daily blog, updated the circus' social media, and was the primary media contact on site during tour. He completed an internship with the American Youth Circus Organization’s staff serving as the Public Relations and Marketing intern where he created promotional materials for the organization, as well.
Alex is currently the Director of Promotions for comedy duo, Steve & Ryan and the Public Relations/Graphics Consultant for The Piccolini Trio. He is also active in The University of Iowa's PRSSA Chapter as the Communications Director and as a research assistant in the Communications Studies department.
