I'm Alfredo del Arenal, founder of CDMXExpats.com.

I build credential-checked vertical directories — online resources where the differentiator isn't editorial curation but documented, federally-verified credentials. CDMXExpats is the first: a resource hub for the thousands of English-speaking expats moving to Mexico City every year, where every healthcare provider is verified against Mexico's federal Cédula Profesional registry before being listed.

The methodology generalizes. Mexico has under-utilized federal credential registries across healthcare, law, real estate, accounting, and engineering. Most directories ignore them because verification is friction. We treat that friction as the moat.

Phase 1 of CDMXExpats is healthcare — six sub-verticals (GPs, urgent care, mental health, dental, OB-GYN, pediatrics) across the neighbourhoods where expats live. Phase 2 extends the same methodology to housing, immigration, neighbourhoods, and the five remaining pillars in our content architecture.

Before CDMXExpats, I spent over a decade at the intersection of consulting, technology, and growth strategy. The pattern repeats: every market has trust gaps, most trust gaps have institutional verification mechanisms nobody uses, and whoever wires the mechanisms to the audience wins the category.

Open to conversations on credential-checked verticals, healthcare access in CDMX, expat verification systems, and how to build trust-as-product directories from scratch.
