Dr. Algeania Freeman
A career administrator and educator with 34 years of relevant experience, Dr. Algeania Freeman has served in executive roles for colleges and universities throughout the country, building an exceptional professional resume in the process. Over the years, Dr. Freeman has raised more than $40 million in grants and external funding, published in numerous scholarly journals, presented research and delivered lectures at all manner of professional conferences, and held fellowships with the U.S. Pentagon and the American Society of Allied Health. Frequently honored for her contributions to the betterment of colleges and universities, Dr. Algeania Freeman has earned listing in multiple Who’s Who publications, won Teacher of the Year for her work in the School of Health Related Professions and Natural Sciences at Norfolk State University, received an Outstanding Graduate Award Citation from the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education, and was a national finalist for the White House Fellows program. Most notably, Dr. Freeman won the Harlem Renaissance Award for Outstanding HBCU President, which stands as a strong testament to her successful three years as President of Livingstone College in Salisbury, North Carolina. Over the course of her career in academia, Dr. Algeania Freeman has maintained a steadfast commitment to personal enrichment through continued education and leadership conferences. She has completed multiple programs through Harvard University, the Institute for Lifelong Learning, the Institute for Management Development, the CASE Institute on Education Fundraising at Dartmouth College, and elsewhere. A graduate of the Ohio State University, Southern Illinois University, and Fayetteville State University, Dr. Algeania Freeman holds a Ph.D. in Communications, an M.S. in Speech Pathology and Audiology, and a B.S. in English, respectively. Her experience includes periods as President of Martin University, Acting Vice President of Advancement at Norfolk State University, Vice President for Advancement and Program Development at Southern California College, Assistant Vice President of Academic Planning and Program Development at Morgan State University, Dean of the School of Public and Allied Health at East Tennessee State University, and Dean of Consumer and Health Sciences at Orange Coast College.
