My name is Ali Yildirim and I have been working as a professional freelance translator since 2005. I came to the UK in 2001 and my interest in becoming a translator developed when I started translating documents from and into English for Amtec Co-op in 2003. In 2005, I started working for myself and set-up Bosphorus Translation. Since then, I have provided services for many companies and organisations such as Nokia, Canon, Portsmouth City Council, Defence School of Languages, Greater London Authority and countless others.

Translation, interpreting, proofreading, localisation and transcription are the main services I offer. Although I have a substantial experience within the public service interpretıng fıeld, due to latest cuts in fees I no longer offer my services in this field but I would consider individual assignments depending on the fee offered and my availability. At the moment, I spend most of my working hours translating various materials. Knowledge, experience, fluency, punctuality, accuracy and clarity are my most important attributes. I never agree to take on a project unless I am confident I can deliver. In my entire professional translation career, I have not once missed a deadline.

I am committed to professional development and I constantly strive to improve my skills in different areas of the profession - learning about new technologies, developing my vocabulary and reading relevant publications.
