Born and raised in Sandusky, Ohio (home of Cedar Point) as a 'Buckeye', I moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana after high school to pursue Elementary Education at Taylor University. I quickly realized that teaching wasn't exactly what God had planned for me, and moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1999. I began working in transportation and logistics at Brightpoint (now Ingram Micro). In 2001, I decided I needed to be in a more creative field and chose to go back to school at IUPUI to study Interior Design, and took a job at Woollen, Molzan and Partners, Architects for three years, working mostly on assisting in design projects for churches and libraries.
When WMP closed their doors, I was priviledged to receive a job offer at IDS | Integrated Distribution Services, and had spent 6 years working in warehousing/fulfillment/transportation and logistics in both finance. In August of 2012, I was asked to consider going into a more creative position as the Marketing Coordinator for IDS. This was such a dream come true for me, as I have always had a passion for creativity. I've now been in marketing for the last 4 years with IDS.
I've been consistently working on part-time residential design projects for friends and referrals from friends. I'm also currently working on a commercial design project with an addition and renovation of the children's wing at the Community Church of Greenwood, as well as their small group classroom renovations. I've also started my own design consultation company, iStylu. This is a work in progress, but hope to get this up and running this year.
I married the most wonderful man I've ever met, Doug Dale (real estate investor, property manager, all around super smart guy) here in Indianapolis, and he's changed my life for the better. In July 2013, we announced the birth of our son, Jack and he's been the biggest joy of my life... until recently! Now there are two. Alex was born in July 2015!
I will continue to nurture my marketing career and blend my love and passion for interior design into my life as well, all while raising our two beautiful boys.
If you are interested in a residential or commercial design consulation, please let me know! My designs are typically anywhere from transitional to contemporary. I believe that you should build a space over time and fill it with pieces that inspire you and your family, to create a space that develops into a signature of you, your life and your family.
