Alicia Grove
Write, Editor, and Student in Gainesville, Florida
My name is Alicia Lucia Grove, I am a junior studying English at the University of Florida, expecting to graduate in the Spring of 2024. After graduating from my bachelor’s degree program, I want to go straight into the field of writing journalism and/ or editing those sorts of work. I absolutely love puzzles, especially word puzzles. There is nothing more exhilarating than to be able to look at a set of words and phrases that are strung together in sentences and paragraphs to tell a story and mix them around to make the most sense and convey the most interesting version of that story. I am absolutely captivated by the English language and motivated to continue to make all sorts of writing interesting—from the smallest newspaper article to the largest periodical piece. Without an interesting word set together in an intriguing tone, even the most fascinating of stories can become the blandest pieces to read. My current study of English, through the lens of literature and the various forms of writing, is aiding and developing my growth and ability to recognize the need for changes pertaining to words, and phrases, alongside the general flow of the written work in its entirety.
