I'm Alicia Ruth, owner of Activist Fitness.
There's a need in our community for a different approach to fitness outside the lines and agendas of gyms and studios. I help people connect with their strength and feel the empowerment of knowing that their health is in their own hands. We do this through outdoor functional fitness training on its own, or combined with my vegan nutrition and lifestyle program for those who seek a transformative health change beyond the workout.
The most beautiful and enduring health transformations in people who adopt a whole foods, plant based diet: reduced chronic pain, reversing obesity, infertility, and depression, to name a few. I offer my deep knowledge of the subject as a long time vegan athlete, former pastry chef, and professional dancer living the city life. There's so much more to living vegan in today's world besides "what do I eat?"
My style is grounded by my life's athletic pursuits: track and field, softball, distance racing, CrossFit, gymnastics, rock climbing/mountaineering, swimming, yoga, and of course dance.
I'm here to share the freedom, joy and body love that comes with training outside. And to serve as a resource, advocate, and ally for vegan athletes and aspiring vegans of all types - to help them align their nutrition, health, and ethical concerns with their performance goals.
