Alicja Wiktoria
Chief Projects Officer in Reykjavík, Iceland
I work at the intersection of energy, strategy, projects and international cooperation, bringing together people and organisations to turn complex ideas into practical results.
As Chief Projects Officer at ORKIS Energy Cluster Iceland, my work spans project and portfolio leadership, strategic partnerships, business development and international collaboration across industry, research and the public sector.
My career has been built in geothermal and renewable energy, including almost a decade of work with international programmes and European cooperation. Today, I am using that experience as a foundation for a broader focus on energy systems, heating and cooling, innovation, industrial development and the connection between policy and implementation.
I have worked across European and international initiatives funded through Horizon programmes, FP7, EEA Grants and other collaborative frameworks. This has given me a practical understanding of something I find increasingly important: strong technology alone is rarely enough. Deployment also depends on policy, financing, markets, partnerships and the ability to align very different stakeholders around a common objective.
A large part of my work is therefore about connecting the dots — between projects and strategy, research and business, national priorities and international opportunities.
I am also leading the development of the Iceland Geothermal Conference 2027, bringing together industry, government, research, investors and international partners around the next questions facing the geothermal sector: technology, business, policy, investment and deployment.
Alongside my professional experience, completing an Executive MBA at Reykjavík University has strengthened my focus on strategy, leadership, finance and organisational development.
My geothermal background remains an important part of who I am professionally. But the question that increasingly drives my work is broader:
How do we turn energy innovation, knowledge and collaboration into solutions that can actually be deployed, scaled and create long-term value?
That is the space where I want to contribute.
