About Me

I am Alieu Manneh, a passionate youth leader, educator, and human rights advocate from The Gambia, dedicated to empowering young people through education, mentorship, and civic engagement.

As the Founder and Executive Director of The Remarkable Mentorship Academy (REMA Academy), I lead initiatives in public speaking, leadership, career development, media literacy, conflict resolution, goal settings, and stress management for high school students and recent graduate. The REMA has impacted over 250 students and community members across multiple regions and has signed an MoU with The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (MoBSE).

I hold a BSc in Political Science from the University of The Gambia, where I served as the Information and Communication Minister of the student body, winning by a landslide. I also worked as Press and Communication Director for the university‘s largest student political group, managing media and outreach.

As a former teacher, I was the Coordinator of Press Clubs, Human Rights Clubs, and Student Councils at multiple schools. I also pioneered a Guidance and Counseling Center at Kotu Senior School. My dedication earned me awards, including Most Outstanding Teacher for Service to the School and Students Choice Award.

Beyond education, I actively engage in civic and political education, serving as Secretary General of a youth-led initiative tackling tribalism. I have hosted radio programs on youth development and volunteered with organizations such as Beakanyang and JoinHands Charity Gambia to promote human rights, environmental sustainability, and girls education.

I have participated in several national and capacity-building programs, including the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), earning multiple certifications in human rights, governance, transparency, and elections. I was also shortlisted for the YALI Regional Leadership Center (RLC) cohort 52 in Accra.

My mission is to inspire young people to take leadership roles in their communities, fostering a culture of integrity, ethics, and growth. In my personal time, I enjoy meditation and mindfulness, reinforcing my commitment to self-improvement and leadership development.
