Ali Foughi is an experienced executive who served, ultimately as Vice President and General Manager, at Maxim Integrated Products as the company grew from $110M to $2B in revenues. As Maxim captured a strong leadership position in the analog and mixed-signal semiconductor market, Mr. Foughi developed significant expertise in building global businesses and transforming underperforming business units into efficient, successful organizations. From building a $50 million business from the ground up to revitalizing existing product lines, Ali Foughi effectively communicated his vision to the CEO, secured his buy-in, and executed to the long range business plans.
Additionally, Ali Foughi contributed to Maxim's merger and acquisition activities by identifying and vetting prospective targets throughout Europe and the United States. With a keen eye for companies harboring synergistic technology and outstanding talent, Mr. Foughi led the due diligence team and negotiated the purchase of a private UK-based high-growth startup. After finalizing the transaction, Ali Foughi remained intimately involved to ensure the seamless integration of the merged entity. Approximately one year later, Maxim's Board of Directors determined the Phyworks acquisition to be among the most successful for meeting pre-acquisition revenue and profitably targets and achieving 100 percent employee retention.
A graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Mr. Foughi began his career as an Analog System Design Engineer with LTX Corporation where he developed high-performance Automatic Test Equipment. Ali Foughi notably designed new, state-of-the-art programmable analog filters that set industry-wide performance standards and which are still in use today.
With a focus on startups in the semiconductor and clean energy industries, Mr. Foughi is currently consulting with highly innovative enterprises in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. His unique insights have strengthened the product definition and development process, as well as provided guidance in the acquisition of capital and the creation of strategic business plans.
