Architect, Designer, and Project Manager in Manama, Bahrain
I am an architectural designer with experience in designing and managing projects of a variety of scales, including my award winning design-build installation, Urban Decontrol, in the city of Paris, France, exploring the intersections of socio-political action with built form.
My passion for architecture stems from a greater desire for a better life, a better world and thus better built form based upon theories grounded in philosophy (human thought) & politics (human action). This passion extends beyond the building to the urban scale as part of a vision that architecture is not a disconnected practice for its own sake; rather an act of engagement with human beings.
I have participated in the design of projects in different parts of the world. In the Middle East, my most notable projects are the Al Razi Hospital expansion in Kuwait and the Kuwait Cancer Center with international design firm NBBJ. Additionally, I have worked with SSH, a regional A/E firm, managing teams for the design & delivery of social housing, a class A office tower and a waterfront master planning project in the south of Bahrain.
With Hassan Lari Group, I am currently working on a 4-star hospitality project, a high-rise waterfront development, single family residential houses and a mosque, in a variety of capacities including architectural & interior design and project design management.
I hold a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology and currently work as a developer, architect and contractor... an archipreneur. I am also the Bahrain representative of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Middle East chapter (www.aiamiddleeast.org).
Through Ali Lari Design, I offer design, project management and development management consultancy services to clients. Get in touch... (and stay tuned for updates!)
