Alisa Monnier Alexander

With a decade of experience directing corporate brand communications and reputation management for two of the top four global advertising networks, Alisa is an experienced and savvy communications pro, with honed skills that address the multi-dimensional nature of today’s leading global brands. Leveraging proven business acumen and an entrepreneurial spirit, Alisa’s diverse experiences range from directing global expansion for Fortune 500 businesses to managing the start-up of a privately-funded foodservice brand.

Named the Director of Global Marketing Communications at Interpublic Group Mediabrands (NYSE: IPG) in November 2008, Alisa oversees corporate affairs, PR and industry relations for a constellation of brands within the Mediabrands umbrella. At Mediabrands, Alisa unified the communications departments of nearly a dozen units, and developed brand communications plans for offices in North America, EMEA and APAC.

Central to Alisa’s craft is the art of the story. With a strong background in blending the worlds of business, technology and advertising, Alisa has a penchant for developing large, multi-channeled communications initiatives that cross both consumer and advertising business media, while directly supporting company business strategies and growth initiatives. Through her ability to mainstream advertising storylines, Alisa has developed strong relationships with producers and editors at CNBC, the Today Show, NBC’s Live Digital, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and all major advertising trades. Alisa has also developed top-to-top relationships with major industry organizations and events such as South By Southwest (SXSW), Cannes Advertising Festival, the ANA and Advertising Week in New York.

Prior to Mediabrands, Alisa managed communications at Starcom MediaVest Group, launching the agency’s third network, Spark (formerly StarLink), where she built the unit’s communications department from the ground-up, developing and driving the voice of the company.

Part of the Chicago start-up business community, Alisa directed PR for a multi-unit, all-natural restaurant concept where she crafted communications strategies that highlighted the restaurant’s healthy menu, community engagement initiatives and sustainable packaging practices.

Alisa earned degrees in advertising and women’s studies from the University of Illinois-Champaign where she was also a four-year letter-winning athlete.
