Math Teacher in Cozad, Nebraska

I was born and raised in Western Nebraska. For undergrad, I attended Nebraska Wesleyan University where I played basketball and studied abroad (finishing my student teaching in New Zealand).

After graduating, I put my middle-level teaching degree to good use and spent two years teaching in a small community on the eastern plains of Colorado. Afterward I joined the Peace Corps and volunteered teaching English and Math, for nearly two years, in the Republic of Kiribati which is located in the Pacific Ocean. I returned to my hometown of Kimball, NE, to accept the perfect job of teaching middle level math and coaching cross country. I remained at that job until I married my husband, Dustin, and moved to Cozad, NE, where he was the high school guidance counselor and I taught high school math. I was also the assistant cross country coach and had my hand in many other sports. Our most recent moved put us in Bridgeport, Nebraska where Dustin became the high school principal and I moved teaching fields from math to science.

My husband, and I have built a beautiful family with one son, Carson (7), and one daughter, Kelsey (5). My biggest educational goals is to continually grow so that I can meet my students in their ever changing world. I never want to settle, I want to get better every day.
