Hello and welcome! Hmm, introducing onself is always a litttle bit hard to do, but I guess I will start with my name. I am Ali Seif, a blogger and online activist working for a better Middle East, and ultimately to change the often negative image my beautiful country - Lebanon - has around the world.
The reason I got into blogging and then online activism was based on a personal experience I had outside of Lebanon. Its quite funny, I was showing a group of friends pictures of Lebanon when I quickly got a comment that shocked me - " Lebanon looks like that?" I think that is where I realized I really wanted to get Lebanon out to the world, let them know about the beauty inside of it, and how spectacular this tiny nation really is! I decided to do so by writing about different aspects of Lebanon on my wordpress blog [a tab is provided below, which will take you straight to my online home]. With that up and running, I realized that truly a picture is often worth 1000 words, so I quickly opened up my tumblr photo blog, which ultimately focuses on Beirut [ a tab is also provided below].
However, because Lebanon is located in a very politically active region of the world- the Middle East - it has its problems as well. Things aren't just beautiful beaches and green mountian ranges! As many may know, the region is always changing and the problems continue to increase - so with that being said, I found it difficult not to be part of the change in the region - hence my online activism for the #MENA region. Mostly this is done on my twitter account [again, a tab that directs you to my account is found below as well]. So check me out, read my content, look at the pictures and most importantly join in the discussion.
