My name is Alisha Paul and I am a Master's student currently working on my Information Technology and Management degree with a concentration on Data Science at the University of Texas at Dallas. In 2014, I graduated from the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science and in 2017, I graduated from UTD with my Bachelor's degree in Biology.

During my academic career, I accrued 6 months of work experience at Scribe.ology LLC. while being employed as a Scribe. I learned valuable professional skills such as data collection and analysis, patient relations, and record-keeping to help the doctors improve the patient experience. This role gave me the experience of working in a very fast-paced environment, a skill is extremely applicable in the data science field as well.

I also worked as an Assurance Services Data Analytics Intern at The Chemours Company. I learned valuable professional skills such as inspecting, cleaning, transforming, and modeling data to help discover information, make conclusions, and support decision-making. This role also allowed me to work in a financial department along with internal auditors and other senior financial data analysts to analyze company data and find suspicious activity.

Along with academics, I am dedicated to a few extracurricular activities as well. As a member of the Women in STEAM Living Learning Community, I get to be part of a select group of women with the goal of increasing retention of female STEM and Art students by offering a community of peers and faculty to provide mentorship.

I have been consistently praised as hard-working by my professors and peers. Whether working on academic, extracurricular, or professional projects, I always apply critical thinking, teamwork, and organizational skills and I hope to leverage these into my data science position after graduating as well.
