Alisha is a senior year at University of Florida pursuing a degree in public relations and communication studies. Although she is looking to work within the corporate public relations sector, her experience includes working with entertainment and nonprofit public relations.
Her background in nonprofit public relations includes interning in the rentals and group sales department at Gainesville's local professional theater, the Hippodrome Theatre. She also interned as a public relations associate for the Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art, the largest art museum in the southeast. Additionally, one of Alisha's prime internship opportunities was working for Cinema Verde, Gainesville's environmental film and arts festival. She was in charge of all media relations and started up the festival's first team of interns.
Alisha's entertainment public relations background includes interning in New York City for Terry Hines & Associates as a publicity and promotions intern. She handled CBS Films and Relativity Media while also helping other film studios with red carpet events, promotional events, advanced screenings and research on different regions in New York.
Alisha also worked for Gofobo as the interactive marketing intern for the Gofobo Human Campaign where she helps to promote upcoming films for Walt Disney Motion Pictures, Weinstein Company and Focus Features by collecting press clippings, updating video content, gathering pictures from red carpet events and reading screening junket transcripts to put on Gofobo's website.
She has been published in numerous publications including New Voices, JVibe, the SHPiEL, Aish, the Gainesville Sun, the Independent Alligator, KOACH, INsite Magazine and the Santa Fe Sentinel.
