Alison Blake

Ireland

Based in County Carlow I am a professional proofreader and copy editor. Following on from a Degree in Applied Languages (French and Spanish) I spent many years in advertising where I developed my passion for proofreading. I have since completed a certificate in editing and proofreading and am working freelance on a range of material.

What is proofreading? Proofreading is adding consistency, exactness and polish to your material. If you are a blogger, student, writer, small business person and want to give a good impression on your thesis, leaflet, article, presentation then you need a proofreader with fresh eyes to look over your work, check spelling and grammatical errors, add consistency to the content and style and check the overall layout.

It has often been said that it's impossible to edit your own work and this is very true. A professional proofreader will remove any unnecessary errors which can often distract a reader.

Testimonials:

Gillian Glynn O'Sullivan, typist.ie "Alison Blake is proofreader for my company for the past 3 years. She is 100% reliable, accurate in her work and extremely dedicated, always meeting deadlines. She is extremely organised, flexible and reliable. Alison comes with my highest recommendation."

Pascale Lutz, author of 'Always there for you'. "Alison edited my book, and being French she had her work cut out for her. She was extremely thorough and yet listened to what I had to say. She was quick to respond to any query I had and nothing was a problem for her. I would recommend using Alison for your editing projects, I will be sure to use her services in the future, should I write another book."
