Alissa Nardini
Student, Artist, and Writer in Toronto, Canada
I am a Creative Industries student at Ryerson University, with a minor in Philosophy. This program allows me to delve into the world of entrepreneurship and personal branding which brings me closer to my career aspirations, and my minor indicates a passion for introspection.
Along with my studies I work part time at the Ryerson Student Learning Centre, where I assist patrons of all ages in a fast-paced environment, as well as taking on special projects such as leading the team in a Halloween decorating project, and being a part of the Chalk Art Committee, working to enrich students’ experiences through art.
Additionally, I am also a freelance stylist, content creator, a Fashion Columnist at Tonitruale and a volunteer at CJRU 1280AM – Ryerson University’s very own radio station.
My wide range of skills built through the variety of activities I partake in will aid me in my ambitious goals of becoming a stylist or an SFX artist following graduation in 2023. I hope to one day work on a Guillermo del Toro film, and/or do prosthetics on Doug Jones- the incredible and unrecognizable actor appearing in films such as The Shape of Water and Pan’s Labyrinth.
I have a passion for the shape-shifting nature of art, and that through makeup and dress, anything is possible. It is this passion and the drive for career advancement that will propel me into career success.
