I have more than 15 years of experience serving in senior and executive capacities at global investment funds and heading major direct investment projects. Please click on the links in the text below for further information/background.
I have worked for a large sovereign wealth fund, the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), where I was a Senior Investment Analyst covering public equities until I decided to work in private equity and direct investing.
In 2006, Warid International, LLC of Abu Dhabi recruited me as its Head of Investments and Mergers and Acquisitions as well as its Group Chief Commercial Officer responsible for their telecoms investments.
In 2007, I negotiated a joint venture agreement to provide value-added services to Warid International's portfolio companies as well as other operators from Sony BMG Music Entertainment and Germany's Bertelsmann AG. The same year, I headed the working group that led the $2.9-billion sale of a 30 percent stake in Warid to SingTel, and in 2009, I led a transaction arrangement to sell 70 percent of Warid Telecom Bangladesh to Indian telecommunications giant Bharti Airtel Limited.
I am also the project lead for a successful youth package for Warid, called Glow, that helped to realize synergies between the telecoms and media portfolio investments. I have served as Director of a venture capital investment in mobile money transfer and successfully negotiated a tripartite agreement with RIM and EMS to offer Blackberry services through the Group's telecom investee companies.
