Allen Vance

Allen has 26 years of experience in software and systems development, operations, and information security, with organizations in the defense, infosec, telecom and semiconductor industries.

His functional roles have included development, architecture, product management, operations, manufacturing, and strategic alliances/new business development.

At Ionic Security, Allen is responsible for the product roadmap, product delivery, and ensuring that the business stays aligned with market and customer needs.

At Dell SecureWorks from 2010-2012, he led a team of five product managers, was responsible for security services for data and application protection, threat intelligence, firewall and log management, advanced malware threats, and cloud security, and managed relationships with strategic partners including Imperva, F5 Networks, FireEye, and Qualys.

Allen’s educational background includes Computer Science and MBA degrees from Georgia Tech, the CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) and CCSK (Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge) certifications, and a Green Belt in Lean/Six Sigma.

Allen is a member of the FBI InfraGard program, and an active speaker on information security and risk management issues at industry events. He has been interviewed by industry publications including Network World, ComputerWorld Canada, Computer Dealer News, and MSP Mentor.

A Lieutenant Colonel in the Georgia State Defense Force, Allen is part of a unit that provides technical and user support for critical information systems for the Ga. National Guard. He has earned the US DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) and Anti-Terrorism Officer Levels I and II certificates.

He lives in Atlanta, GA with his wife, two children and Gracie the Lab.
