Allen Blakemore

Allen Blakemore is consistently ranked among the top lobbyists and political consultants in Texas. In 2015, he was named one of the “Ten Most Powerful Lobbyists” by Capitol Inside Lobby Power Rankings and in 2104, he was recognized as “Most Valuable Player” in the primary runoff and part of the “All-Star Team” for the general election. Over the past two decades, Allen’s general consulting clients have won 347 of 406 campaigns.

Allen is a frequently-quoted source in state and national media. He has earned two “Pollie Awards” from the American Association of Political Consultants, and recognition by the Newspaper Association of America as creator of one of “50 of the Best Political Newspaper Ads.” Allen was also listed as one of the most influential Republican figures in Texas politics and government by Campaigns and Elections Magazine.

Prior to founding Blakemore & Associates, Allen served U.S. Senators John Tower and Phil Gramm. In 1985, he was selected as a fellow at the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Republican Campaign Academy.

A strong supporter of law enforcement, Allen serves on the board of the Texas Department of Public Safety Foundation, which provides support to public safety personnel and their families in time of need. He is also past president of the Sentinel Club, an organization that raises money to benefit West University Place public safety officers. Allen is active in his community and is a Life-Member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and currently serves on the World Championship Bar-B-Que Contest Committee. He previously served as city-wide chairman of the Neighborhood Watch Program and on the Executive Committee for Young Life—Southwest Houston.

A third-generation Texan, Allen graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science degree in International Trade. He and his wife Elizabeth have two daughters and are members of First Presbyterian Church. They live in Houston.
