Julie Allen

Dallas, Texas, United States

I am transitioning from the healthcare field to the sports entertainment field. Currently, I work as a Kinesiotherapist, providing physical rehabilitation to the US veterans in the Dallas metroplex. Prior to my current career, I served in the US Army as a Combat Medic, lived in Bad Kreuznach Germany and Ft. Lee Virginia. Following my passion led me to my recent MS degree in Entertainment Business and Sports Management.

The one question that I get is why the entertainment field, it is so different from healthcare? The entertainment field is very broad, moves very quickly and can be scary but at the same time very exhilarating with the same objective across all mediums (i.e., acting, sports, music, fashion), "great fan experience", how to achieve this leaves to door open for creativity to enter. Customer service is the main focus, in the healthcare field, we call it patient center care and in the entertainment field it is call giving the fans optimal experience through serice and technology.

I am driven to be productive in whatever I do. I enjoy helping others achieve thier goals, whether it is to learn how to walk again or help someone achieve their goals in the sports arena, tackling new challenges and being creative gives me life.

On the fun side, I enjoy various facets of entertainment. I am a physical woman, who likes to learn how to play new sports (i.e., fencing, boxing, cycling, flag football) or dance styles (i.e., belly dancing, salsa, swing out) that are unfamiliar to me. On the serious side, I follow and participate in politics, voluteer in church functions (media & greeting) and keep abreast of current affairs.
