Allen Levy is a Clinical Social Worker who also has extensive training and experience as a Modern Psychoanalyst. While running his own private practice for over 30 years, he is also a clinical staff member of Temenos Institute in Westport, Connecticut serving individuals, families, couples, and groups. He began his profession in the academic community as a research director for Long Island University-Rockland Campus, facilitating the development of a new Social Work program for LIU. Following his research, Allen Levy joined Rockland Community College’s Continuing Education Program as an adjunct faculty member before serving as an Associate Training Analyst for the Philadelphia School of Psychoanalysis. Coincidently, Allen Levy was a faculty member at both alma maters, later serving as an adjunct faculty member for the Union Institute in Cincinnati where he had received his doctorate in Psychoanalysis. Dr. Allen Levy was heavily involved with The Center for Group Studies, working with the center as a supervisor, faculty member, and member of the Board from 1990 through 2005. Allen Levy is a nationally certified psychoanalyst with almost 20 years of classroom experience. After completing undergraduate coursework in psychology from New College in Sarasota, Florida, Dr. Levy began studying at the Philadelphia School of Psychoanalysis. Simultaneously, he completed his Masters of Science in Social Work at Columbia University. Currently, Allen Levy holds a Doctorate in Psychoanalysis from The Union Institute, located in Cincinnati, Ohio. Allen Levy is a group certified psychotherapist who has spoken for a multitude of community-based organizations including United Hospice of Rockland and the YAI International Conference for the Learning Disabled. As a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Psychoanalysis, Allen Levy has published multiple pieces, including “It’s All God,” as part of the collection entitled, Transformation of the Heart, which was published by Leela Press.
