I have been working in the Education field for 6 years now. All of those years have been with Collins College. I have been with various departments within the company. I started out as a receptionist for the Admissions Department. As a receptionist, I was in charge of checking in future and current students that needed to see an Admissions Representative. About 4 months into working at Collins College, I moved into a new role of Admissions Support Coordinator. As a Admissions Support Coordinator, I managed the front desk group, support admissions with portal lead generations, and support the front desk receptionists with daily duties. A year later, I moved on to another position with the Student Services Department. As a Student Services Advisor, I coached students on solving life issues and academic hurdles. During that year, I was also awarded the Staff of the Month for helping the department hit retention goals. About 3 years ago, I made the switch to Career Services and have been coaching students in resume development, interviewing skills, job search strategies, and networking. I also manage a Federal Work Study team that works with Non-profit organizations around the Valley . In conjunction with working at Collins, I am also a student in the Graphic Design program. I recently graduated from the Associates program in October 2010. I am now in pursuit of my Bachelor of Fine Arts and will graduate April 2012. I plan to climb another mountain and get my Masters of Fine Arts in the same year. As an alumni from Collins College, I also serve on the Alumni Association board. As a board member, I serve as the newsletter editor along with board member duties. My major goal after I am done with school is working in the sports field as a Graphic Designer. I am passionate about all aspects of Sports. I know that whatever path I choose to take, it will lead me in the right direction.
