Allie Butuc

Student, Artist, and Writer in Northport NY

I’m Allie, a high school journalist and artist from Long Island, New York, with a passion for storytelling through both writing and visual art. I have a particular interest in politics and geopolitics, and I enjoy reporting on current events that help readers better understand the world around them. Whether covering local stories, interviewing experts, or exploring global issues, I’m driven by a curiosity to ask meaningful questions and tell stories that matter.

In 2026, I attended the Robert W. Greene Summer Institute for High School Journalists at Stony Brook University, where I gained hands-on experience in reporting, interviewing, writing, and multimedia journalism while learning from professional journalists. The experience strengthened my commitment to pursuing a career in journalism and reinforced my belief in the importance of accurate, thoughtful reporting.

Alongside journalism, I’m also a visual artist whose work explores themes of conflict, identity, and the human experience. Through both my reporting and my artwork, I strive to inform, inspire, and encourage others to think critically about the world.

This portfolio showcases my journalism, artwork, and creative projects as I continue developing my voice as a reporter, storyteller, and artist.

Below I have linked a few of my publications including articles I have written for my school newspaper, blogs I have written for the Greene Gazette, and a couple of other pieces of writing I have done.
