Hello! I am a teacher currently living in Iqaluit, NU.

I completed my undergraduate degree at Queens University majoring in Psychology and Health Studies. My focus in my undergrad was on health and education disparities among First Nation, Inuit and Metis communities across Canada. I completed my teaching degree at University of Toronto OISE. My focus was on elementary education in Canadian remote Northern communities.

I am currently in my second year of teaching grade 4 in Iqaluit. I have become very invested in the literacy development of students impacted by interrupted schooling. I am interested in learning and implementing reading recovery strategies that are both engaging, age appropriate, and effective.

Outside of the school I enjoy spending time outdoors. I play squash and hockey in the community. I hike and cross country ski with my husky pup. I enjoy thriller/ suspense and comedy movies or tv shows. I also like to cook and eat a variety of foods from all over the world!
