Dr. Allison Bell

With more than two decades of clinical experience, Dr. Allison Bell maintains a Katonah, New York, private practice focused on child psychology and divorce-related issues. She provides couples’ therapy and performs neuropsychological evaluations of children. Dr. Allison Bell also undertakes neutral forensic custody evaluations at Family and Supreme Courts in New York. She is co-chairperson of the Hudson Valley Collaborative Divorce and Dispute Resolution Association and a founding member of the New York Civil Collaborative Group. Both organizations emphasize collaborative methods to facilitate mutually beneficial resolutions of legal matters such as divorce and business disputes, and avoid adversarial, expensive litigation.

Dr. Bell earned her master’s degree in dance therapy at City University of New York-Hunter College and subsequently worked as a dance therapist at Brunswick Hospital Center. Working with a diverse range of patients, from adolescents to seniors, she emphasized nonverbal and movement techniques to overcome issues related to substance abuse, anxiety, and depression. She subsequently completed her Psy.D. at Yeshiva University in the Bronx and established her current practice. Dr. Allison Bell has lectured in a number of public venues, including the Judicial Institute in Westchester, and has appeared on a CBS television program speaking about the practice of collaborative divorce.
