While studying architecture at the University of Miami, I learned how to think spatially by designing buildings and how to collaborate with my partners to blend our ideas. To gather intern hours towards my architectural license, I interned at Zyscovich Architects for three summers. I worked with various departments including architectural and interior design, project management, marketing and human resources to gain experience from all aspects of the firm. I taught myself AutoCAD, Google SketchUp and REVIT through tutorials, which built my strong foundation in architectural programs for blueprints and 3D modeling.
In my fourth semester studying architecture, I took a graphic design class for my art minor. The class changed my career goals into a visual communication in multimedia platforms. Graphic design became a new focus for me to express my creativity. I learned many software programs for graphic and website design, both soft-taught and course studies.
I began my freelance design business, Ally Bee Design, after I taught myself Dreamweaver, a website design program. Websites are a communication outlet between a customer and a business. My goal as a web developer is to enhance my client's business through a functional and intuitive website design. I collaborate with each client from the initial meeting, throughout the design process, until completion. I ensure client satisfaction because I listen to the client's concept for the design. My clients have businesses in various fields including: dance, culinary, and retail. Every project is different because every business needs a unique brand, based on the owner's vision.
