Hi, I'm Allison!

and to be honest.... I don't really know how to introduce myself to you.

I've never been one to love the standard intro/small talk. Instead, I like getting to know people's stories - including all the random details that make people who they are.

So, here are 10 details that make me, me:

1) One of my favorite things is having really "deep" talks with friends - convos about controversial issues, the meaning of life, or insecurities

2) I write extra thoughtful birthday cards to people (we're talking 0 white space, just a crammed mess of scrawled ink). But through my bad handwriting, I try to point out the things that people do that often times, go unappreciated - often times, I use a "10 things I love about you" format

3)I look forward to my cup of tea every morning - always in weird flavors like chocolate mint or vanilla caramel chai

4) I show my love to people through food. If my parents are super busy and stressed, I'll make them lunch. If my friend's had a bad day, here's some chocolate chip cookies! (Also I just find the science behind chocolate chip cookies super fascinating)

5) One of the qualities I like most about myself is that I push myself out of my comfort zone - probably, my proudest accomplishment is the fact that I overcame my fear of public speaking, and even gave a ted-ed talk!

6) Okay, here's something embarrassing - When I was in 7th grade, I wore cowboy boots to school every. single. day. Now, I continue on my questionable fashion choices with bright, colorful pantsuits (I have a fire-red pantsuit that I've worn 50~ times)

7) The biggest thing that I’ve struggled with is seeking people’s validation. I'm still in the process of learning to love myself and rooting my identity beyond my achievements/what other think of me and in God.

8) I like to think I'm open minded - I moved from a conservative, small Christian private school to a diverse public school in 5th grade. Now, in Model UN, I debate and often represent country policies that I don't agree with. Through both experiences, I feel like I've expanded my perspectives and learned to acknowledge my own biases

9) I don't procrastinate - I thrive off doing things and get restless when I am not productive. But this drive also makes me burn out. I'm still learning to give myself time to rest and simply enjoy life

10) I really enjoy complimenting other people (btw, you look cute today!)

....and that's a wrap! If you made it all the way through: wow, here's a cookie.
