Alli Chagi-Starr is a creative change maker, alliance builder and cultural organizer. Chagi-Starr is a veteran leader in crafting strategy, curating stellar programs and convening the great minds of our times.
She is the Founder/Director of ArtiVISTA Productions and Consulting, where she has worked with national and community leaders to amplify the impact of campaigns and events for social and environmental transformation. Most recently, Chagi-Starr led recruitment efforts, program implementation, alumni development initiatives and produced the Local Economy Impact Investment Summit as the Fellowship Director for BALLE (Business Alliance for Local Living Economies.) She has served as the Regional Director of the San Francisco Green Festival, and facilitated engagement and diversity strategies with Building Resilient Communities, Rainforest Action Network, Living the New Economy and others. She served as the Grassroots Publicity Manager for Van's Jones' bestselling books, The Green Collar Economy and Rebuild the Dream. She currently sits on the advisory board for the East Bay Sustainable Business Alliance.
From 2005-2011, Chagi-Starr was a leader in the green jobs movement as a staff member of Green For All and the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, where she helped found the Reclaim The Future Program, produced the Social Equity Track at the United Nations World Environment Day in San Francisco, initiated the Solutions Salon Series, served as the Business Partnerships Manager and chaired the historic 1,200-person Dream Reborn Conference.
Chagi-Starr was a Co-founder of Art and Revolution, Another World is Possible Road Shows, the Radical Performance Fest, Dancers Without Borders, Art in Action Youth Leadership Program and United Roots, Oakland's Green Youth Arts & Media Center. Alli has served as the Artist Liaison for Prison Radio. Her essays about innovative activism have appeared in several publications. Alli has presented at hundreds of events nationwide, was a Community Fellow with the Full Circle Fund and received the 2010 Common Folk Award from One Common Unity.
Chagi-Starr offers consultation to organizations, curates conferences, facilitates workshops and offers presentations on the power of creative tools for leadership development, social transformation, alliance-building and effective movement building.
