Alon Rosin
Managing Director and Head of US Institutional Equity Derivatives in New York
Alon Rosin has developed a long-standing career in institutional finance through his work in derivatives trading, portfolio management, and market advisory services. Over the years, he has gained experience on both the buy side and sell side of Wall Street, allowing him to understand the priorities and challenges faced by institutional investors. He currently serves as Managing Director and Head of US Institutional Equity Derivatives at Oppenheimer & Co., where he advises clients on listed equity options and strategic trading solutions.
Alon graduated Cum Laude from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Economics in 1997. While studying at Wharton, he was recognized for strong academic performance, earning a spot on the Dean’s List multiple years. After graduation, he entered the Sales and Trading training program at Salomon Brothers, which later became part of Citigroup. The demanding trading environment introduced him to institutional markets early and helped shape his disciplined decision-making approach.
Alon expanded his professional experience by working within hedge funds as both a senior trader and portfolio manager. His time at firms such as J. Goldman & Co. and Diamondback Capital gave him direct exposure to managing investment risk, evaluating volatility, and navigating competitive market conditions. These responsibilities helped him understand how institutional investors think about liquidity and positioning while operating under pressure. The experience later became an important advantage in his client advisory and leadership roles.
Alon later returned to the sell side and continued building his leadership profile across institutional equities and derivatives markets. Before joining Oppenheimer, he served as Head of Institutional Sales for Derivatives and Equities in the Americas at BGC Partners. In that position, he worked closely with institutional investors while helping expand the company’s reach within the trading industry. His ability to combine trading knowledge with strong client relationships strengthened his reputation throughout the financial sector.
Alon Rosin has helped grow Oppenheimer’s institutional derivatives business through strategic expansion and relationship-building with buy-side firms. During his tenure, he co-led the acquisition of Guggenheim’s options desk, which significantly expanded the derivatives team and strengthened the firm’s market presence.
