Alonso Avila

Alonso Avila is a librarian at the University of Iowa Libraries and works in Special Collections and University archives. He received his Master's from the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). He earned his BA in English Literature and Spanish from Coe College, and is also a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer from Jordan (2009-2011). In the future, he looks forward to working in an environment that encompasses his interests in digital outreach and cultural diversity. His interests also include the interrelationships among international hip-hop and academic librarianship, special collections, and archives.
