Heather & Andy Davies
We met at the University of Southampton back in 2001. After completing our degrees (Heather: BA Contemporary Europe with French & Spanish, Andy: BA Philsophy) we worked in Southampton saving money for a round the world trip that took in 13 countries in the 12 months of 2004 including several in Central & South America, Australasia and South East Asia. Returning to the 'real world' we moved to Leeds where we settled for 5 years working for Ernst & Young and PricewaterhouseCoopers respectively.
Whilst things were going well (we'd settled down, bought a house and got married) we wanted more than the jobs and our lifestyle at the time could afford us and following a snowboarding trip to the French Alps we decided to set ourselves up in business running a ski chalet.
We were (and still are) both passionate amateur cooks, always trying out new recipes and cookery techniques. We loved hosting friends and family for meals, bbqs etc at our house so the leap into the hospitality industry just seemed to make sense.
In 2009, within a space of 6 months we'd bought a little company with the leases of 2 chalets, quit our jobs and moved to Meribel.
We've been here ever since, building up a loyal client base who can't resist returning for the fantastic skiing the 3 Valleys has to offer and our infamous chocolate fondant, which has stayed on our menu by popular demand for the last 4 seasons!
We live in Meribel year round nowadays having sold our house in Leeds and open the chalet for summer and winter guests.
As well as snowboarding we are keen mountain bikers and have recently caught the road-biking bug which has seen us pedal to the top of some of the most famous climbs in the French Alps.
