When I was young and asked what I wanted to be when I grow up, I wrote “Missionary” and “Artist”, without having an idea of how the two could work together. As I grew up and started getting involved in performance art (dancing and drama), I finally found a way of not only combining these dual passions, but also a way to serve God through pursuing them both.

I am 34 years old and have a Masters degree in Drama. After studying I lived and worked in England for two years, after which I did my Discipleship Training School with “Youth With a Mission” (YWAM) in Worcester, South Africa.

In 2010 I was involved in organising a big outreach event during the World Cup Soccer Tournament hosted in Johannesburg. I immediately fell in love with the city and its people, and ended up ministering there between 2010 and 2015.

During this time I wrote and directed six stage productions performed in the Hillbrow theatre, five educational theatre productions performed in secondary schools in and around Johannesburg, as well as several shorter pieces for street theatre and church performances.

From September 2015 I was called to return to work as a YWAM-volunteer and moved to Nürnberg, Germany as a staff member on their Arts Focus Discipleship Training School. Through this initiative, I also became involved in working with their current refugee-programmes.
