Kazi Riasat Alve
Kazi Riasat Alve is a Bangladesh based photographer, at first he majored in Marketing and communication studies but he always had a vision to express himself through a visual medium and finally he picked up photography. He joined in a mentoring program under guidance of Saiful Huq Omi at Counter Foto, a Dhaka based photography school. Later he obtained a one year diploma from the same institute. He also participated workshops of Philip Blenkinsop, Pieter Ten Hoopen, Asim Rafiqui, Giulio Di Sturco, Catherine Karnow.
Publications: Works appeared in National Geographic Magazine, Sunday Times Magazine, The New Yorker Magazine, BBC website, Time Magazine lightbox, Washington Post, Guardian, Yahoo News, Mashable, Rediff News, Private Photo Review Magazine online and in many more publications.
Achievements: Nominated for the Joop Swart Masrerclass 2014, Finalist at Environmental Photographer of the year 2015, Commended at Ian Parry Scholarship 2013, Grand Prize winner at National Geographic Channel-Canon Explore to inspire contest 2014, Featured in The New Yorker Magazine “Photo Booth” as Emerging Photographer, Shorlisted in Sony World Photography Awards 2013 and Commended in 2014, Award winner at People & Planet International photography Contest 2011, ,Shortlisted in “Protect the human” photo contest jointly organized by Amnesty International and International School, Dhaka (ISD), Shortlisted in FEI Solidarity World Photography Contest, France.
