Alycia Mosley Austin
Assistant Dean, Graduate School and Associate Director, INP in Rhode Island
I am the Associate Director of the Interdisciplinary Neuroscience Program (INP) at the University of Rhode Island, which offers MS and Ph.D. degrees, in addition to post-baccalaureate certificates. I provide leadership at all levels of the program from instruction, curricular affairs, admissions, advising, and managing the activities of the INP Executive Committee. My responsibilities include ensuring communication and cooperation with faculty, staff, and administrators across the six colleges and 12 departments that comprise the INP. I teach the Developmental Neurobiology section of the INP core course NEU 503, Introduction to the Neurosciences.
I am also Assistant Dean of Graduate Recruitment and Diversity Initiatives at URI, where I plan and implement recruitment initiatives that will attract and provide support for a diverse population of graduate students. I advise faculty and staff on best practices in recruitment, collect and analyze data on graduate admissions and enrollment, and administer scholarship and fellowship programs for graduate students. My service on several campus-wide committees connects the diversity activities of the Graduate School with the greater mission of the university.
