I am a rising junior at the University of Delaware working to achieve my B.S. in Fashion Merchandising. I chose my major because Fashion Merchandising allows me to explore both my business and creative interests. Fashion is an industry that has so many different facets and is inescapable. Every person plays a role in the fashion industry and whether as a consumer or a professional. I want to be a part of something that is as diverse, innovative, and significant as fashion.
Over my winter break I worked as a sales associate at Macy's. Though my time with the company was brief, the job taught me a great deal. I learned how to work in a fast paced environment, communicate effectively with both my co-workers and customers, and utilize selling techniques in order to exceed sales goals. I hope to continue to gain retail and overall experience in the fashion industry.
Ultimately, my goal is to work in the fashion industry in a position that challenges me both creatively and intellectually and helps me continue to grow and build my skills. I work everyday to get closer to my goal by incorporating everything I learn from my experiences into workable skills that will help me in the future.
