Alyssa Mandel is the Founder and Director of the Mandel Center in Scottsdale, Arizona. Her passion and mission to help people address, manage, and overcome their vices is the embodiment of her life mission to show people love and freedom.
Alyssa has over 24 years of experience in social work and psychotherapy, and she was awarded the 40 Under Forty Award by the Phoenix Business Journal in 2008. Alyssa obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison, and she has a Master's of Social Work from Columbia University in New York.
Alyssa's career as a social is vast and extensive, with positions including counseling and care to those in need. Some of her past positions include serving as the Senior Certified Social Worker/Reproductive Health Specialist for Creative Arts Workshops and as the Director of Social Services at Phipps Community Development Corp. She also holds standing memberships at the following organizations:
ADAA (Anxiety Disorders Association of America); ANAD (National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders); APA (American Psychotherapy Association); IAEDP (International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals); NASW (National Association of Social Workers); NEDA (National Eating Disorders Association).
She is also the President/Vice President Elect ofthe International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (Arizona Chapter).Alyssa Mandel founded the Mandel Center with the desire to provide long and short-term psychotherapeutic healing to children, adolescents, and adults. Her specialty is in helping patients manage and conquer eating disorders, OCD, and Panic Disorders/Anxiety. She is also an advocate for the use of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, a form of cognitive behavioral treatment that has found success amongst people battling PTSD as well as a number of other symptoms.
